`…….. to call Alaba market a shape elbowed place is an understatement. (Years ago, armed distributors chased military police and filmmakers who did come to complain about pirating.) But its also a place where an ambitious person can quickly rise – like 22 year old Ibechukwu Johnson, who sits wrapping DVD’s in cellophane in a market stall; somewhere on the market ground. Ibechukwu has no money for college, so after secondary school, he takes a series of odd jobs here and there, before he ended up in the center of these market and feels he has being given the biggest chance to actually achieve; “I am going to save my money, and one day I will open my own place and eventually make films like this ones here,” he says, pointing to the DVD he is wrapping, which features a very low budget drama about…
